How Aevocam works
A deep dive into Aevocam and why it can work for you
TL/DR
Use ordinary security cameras to upload snapshots one or more times per day. We store them for decades for cheap. We make them easy to review.
Why snapshots?
You can already save security camera footage for a long time. But it gets expensive. Even just a few months of footage from several cameras can cost you a bundle. And you probably realize by now how impractical it can be to try to review video footage over spans of months, let alone decades.
Aevocam isn't meant to preserve every moment of all time the way a higher quality security camera system does. Instead it's meant to give you a clearer view of what changes over long period of time.
You can grant access to clients and partners to see your camera feeds too.
Why do I need this?
Aevocam isn't fundamentally about site security. It's about being able to see changes that happen slowly. Sometimes over many years. Think "condition monitoring" instead of "security monitoring".
Just about any industry that has fixed assets like buildings, yards, fields, and such can benefit from long term condition monitoring. Drainage ditches gradually erode. Crops turn color. Trees grow. Foundation cracks emerge. Pipes rust. Shorelines shift.
You won't remember it all. And you won't walk around and take photos of everything in a way that makes it easy to see gradual change. What's more, you probably want to minimize the time your staff spend visiting remote sites like utility terminals and lift stations.
Something amazing happens when you hit a play button and watch as months of snapshots fly by in seconds. You see the change immediately that was invisible to you from day to day.
You also have documentation of change. And of your due diligence on your properties. When you have an insurance claim or liability dispute, you've got the evidence on your side.
What cameras can I use?
Any camera that supports taking snapshots on a schedule and uploading them to an FTP server is compatible with Aevocam. Here is a list of some that we know are compatible. You can also take advantage of the popular Home Assistant platform using our plug-in.
